Ada A. Perruccio
July 22nd, 1923 - August 2nd, 2012
Ada left this earth with the same grace that she lived her life. She spent her 89 years doing all of the things she loved, to the very end. Ada traveled several times a year to visit her family in Hawaii. She enjoyed ballroom dancing twice a week with her companion of 26 years Ken McDaniel also traveling to Chicago each year for the live orchestras and big band music. Ada will surely be missed by Celebrity and Carnival cruise lines:) She had a passion for cruising with her daughter Linda Perruccio-Martin and son in law Kenneth Martin of Laie, Hawaii. She was well traveled having explored four out of the seven continents as well as much of the South Pacific. In most recent years her desire led her back to Hawaii again and again. In 2005 she witnessed the wedding of her only grandchild, Matthew Henry Martin to Anne C. I. Kitagawa. Three years later she had another first in her life with the addition of her great grand daughter, Kyra Aiko Perruccio Martin. Recently, just 2 weeks prior to her passing, she was able to see the birth of her second great grand daughter, Hollyn Mitsuko Elise Martin. With this last branch complete in her family tree she felt at peace, able to leave this life with no regrets. Ada was an accomplished woman, receiving her B.A. from San Jose State University and then her Masters Degree in Education from Stanford University. She taught business education at Santa Cruz High as well as courtroom stenography at Cabrillo and Hartnell Colleges. She was a classically trained pianist as well as talented in the art of floral arranging. Loved by all, she will be missed by a multitude of friends from around the world as well as a small but close family. She so loved her many trips to Hawaii as well as her fondness for the hula and Hawaiian Music. Aloha Oe' (Until we meet again) A celebration of Ada's life will be held at Benito & Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel, 1050 Cayuga St, Santa Cruz, CA on Wednesday August 8, 2012 at 11:30.
