July 23, 1951 – June 7, 2017 Lifelong Resident of Santa Cruz A graveside ceremony with military honors will be held in Soquel on Wednesday, for Stephen Ide who passed away at the age of 65 at Watsonville Community Hospital. Born in Santa Cruz, Stephen served his country in the US Army. He returned to Santa Cruz where he was self employed owning businesses with his parents that included Buckhart's Candies, Grady's Market and the Capitola, Surf, and Santa Cruz Bowling Alleys. Mr. Ide is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Pam and Larry Fletcher of Folsom, California, and was preceded in death by his mother Helen Schattenberg, and his father, Robert Ide. A graveside ceremony will be held at Soquel Cemetery on Old San Jose Road in Soquel beginning at 2 p.m. on Wednesday June 14, 2017.
