Michael Lewis Campbell

On June 18, 2011 Michael L. Campbell passed away peacefully at Dominican Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was born to Malcolm and Ann Campbell on October 6, 1957 at Santa Cruz Dominican Hospital. Michael attended grammar schools in Taft and Santa Clara, graduated from Troy High School, attended Cabrillo College and Fullerton Junior College and received his B.S.Degree from California State University Fullerton. As a teenager Michael started working in his spare time at several local golf courses in the Fullerton area which allowed him certain golfing benefits. He was a member of golf teams and Troy High, Fullerton College and Cal State Fullerton where he carried a scratch handicap. Michael loved sports and in recent years would travel weekends with his closest friend, Terry King, and volunteer working with the equipment group at Cal State Fullerton for at home baseball games. Michael also loved to fish local streams for steelhead, and fly fish for rainbows at Hamilton Branche, Lake Almanor with his father and friend, Cliff King. After graduation from Cal State he started working for the Southern California Gas Company for 15 years as a Meter Reader. He moved to Santa Cruz and worked for the Postal Service in Scotts Valley until being hired by PG&E in December 2000 as a Meter Reader. He loved the outdoors so he really liked working where he could meet people and be in the open air. He is survived by his parents, Malcolm and Ann Campbell; brother, Larry Campbell of Danville, CA; sisters, LeAnn Campbell of Santa Cruz, and Lori Campbell Brunger of Oxnard, Ca respectively. Michael will be missed by all who knew this "Great Guy". At his request no services are planned, but a celebration of his life will be held at a later date for family and friends.
