Marion T. Edmondson

June 19, 1926 – July 19, 2017 Resident of Santa Cruz Services will be on Monday, July 31st for Marion Edmondson who passed away on July 19, 2017 in Santa Cruz. Born in Fairfield, Connecticut, she celebrated her 91st birthday this past month. She earned her degree from San Jose State University and raised her family in the San Jose area, volunteering her time as a Cub Scout leader and catechism teacher. Marion also worked as a high school teacher, and moved to Santa Cruz with her family in the mid 1970's, working as a real estate broker for several different agencies. Marion was an accomplished Bridge player; with many lifelong friendships that she cherished through the years with the Mid County Senior Center and the American Contract Bridge League Unit 550 at the Santa Cruz Bridge Center. She was also a talented artist working with both water colors and oils; creating beautiful portraits and landscapes that she enjoyed gifting to her friends and colleagues. Marion also regularly attended mass at the Villa Maria Del Mar on East Cliff Drive and was very thankful for the grace and blessings that she received from her faith. She is survived by her two sons; Bryan Kelley of Santa Cruz and David Kelley of East Garrison, CA; her daughter, Shawn Weaver of Roseville, her grandchildren: Ashlynne, Shannon, and Bradley Kelley, Joseph Kelley, Johnnie Cortese, and Justin Woods. She also leaves her brother, John Sappo of Shelton, Connecticut, and her niece and nephews Carrie Ann, John and Steven. Funeral services will be on Monday July 31, at Benito and Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel, beginning at 4 p.m. She will be laid to rest in a private ceremony beside her late husband, Donald Clayton Edmondson at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery
