John Enos Payne, 77, longtime resident of Salinas, passed away on March 22, 2014 in Salinas. He was born on November 14, 1936 in Tulare, California. John proudly served in the U. S. Army and previously worked as a tug-boat skipper in commerical boating for over 40 years. At family request, no services will be held. Cremation to take place.

Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
