Elaine Nanette Cruci

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elaine Nanette Cruci. A life-long resident of Santa Cruz County, she was born on August 8, 1952, to Mario Cruci and Elena Nan (Passarino) Cruci. Elaine attended Holy Cross Elementary School and graduated from Holy Cross High School in 1970. Upon graduation from UC Santa Cruz, she attended San Jose State University where she received her teaching credential. In the late 1970s, Elaine taught history at San Lorenzo Valley High School. She later went on to work for Gensler-Lee, J.K. Law Jewelers, and Temple Beth El in Aptos. Elaine was a member of Gilroy Elks Club and for many years took part in the Gilroy Garlic Festival. She was also a member of the Italian Catholic Federation, Branch 21 Santa Cruz. She is survived by her husband of 36 years. She also leaves her cousins Norman Erba, Carol Lopes and Marie Mungai, and numerous other beloved family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was deeply loved and will be dearly missed. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 126 High St., Santa Cruz, CA on Tuesday February 27, 2018 at 11:00 am. A vigil prayer service and recital of the rosary will take place at Benito & Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel, 1050 Cayuga St., Santa Cruz, CA on Monday evening at 7:00 pm. Friends are invited to call at Benito & Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel on Monday from 3:00 pm until service time.
