Jane Evers

Jane Price Evers, RN Jane Price Evers resident of Rio Del Mar passed peacefully at home on January 6, 2015 with her loving famiy at her bedside. Jane was born March 22,1937 daughter to James Price and Lena Stilwell Price, in San Bernadino,Ca. The family later moved to Ontario-Upland, Ca. She attended grade school and junior high in Upland, Ca. She graduated from Chaffey High School in 1956. She went on to graduate from Chaffey Jr. College with an AA degree in nursing. She married Stan Evers May 10, 1957 at Fort Sam in Houston,Texas She worked at San Antonio Community Hospital after graduation until the family moved to Aptos, Ca in 1975. Jane joined Dominican Hospital in 1976. She worked in many departments over the years including float pool, chemical dependency and most recently at the Dominican Rehabilitation Unit. She was a very hard worker and always showed professionalism, compassion and kindness to her patients. At one time she took a break from nursing, and Jane and her sister Betty dipped their hands into owning Aptos Yogurt Company. Although she enjoyed this endeavor, her first love was always nursing and she returned to the hospital milieu. Jane enjoyed staying active and busy. She loved to bike ride, play tennis, exercise and travel. Jane is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Stan Evers; her three sons Bryan (Deborah) of Stillwater OK; Doug (Lynda) of Corralitos CA; Chris (Nikki) of Folsom CA; her sister Betty Price of Walnut Creek and her uncle, Laurence Stilwell of Hemet, Ca. She is also survived by her seven wonderful grandchildren; Casey, Alex, Carson, McKenzi, Bailey, Payton and Mayci. She also has three step-grandchildren; Peyton, Sydni and Tryston Jennings. A special thank you to our wonderful caregivers Viara, who cared for Jane lovingly for many years, Rosie and Reyna; Dominican Home Health nursing staff, Dr. David Kipps and Dr. Robert Quinn. A memorial service will be held Saturday January 17, 2015 at 11:00am at Twin Lakes Church 2701 Cabrillo College Drive Aptos, Ca 95003. Any acts of charity can be made in Jane's memory to Twin Lakes Church 2020 Building Program, or Dominican Rehabilitation Center and/ or Dominican Home Health.
