Dart Franklin Keech

October 21, 1929 – July 10, 2015 Resident of Santa Cruz A private ceremony will take place for Dart Keech who passed away peacefully in Santa Cruz on July 10th. Born in Elyria, Ohio, he was 85 years old. He served his country in the United States Air Force from 1952 to 1956, and then went to finish his degree at Otterbein College in Westerville, Ohio. He worked as a salesman at SBC in Cleveland, Ohio for IBM until 1958 when he got a job at Kaiser Permanente in Cuperino, Calif. After he worked there for a couple of years he joined Lockeed as a computer programmer. He stayed at Lockheed until he was 66. He moved to Santa Cruz in 1973. His career a programmer spanned over 27 years. Dart was very civic minded and volunteered his time to numerous organizations including the Santa Cruz Museum of Art and History. He also drove veterans to the VA Hospital in Palo Alto for their doctor's appointments, and was very interested in genealogy. Dart was also a volunteer docent at Wilder Ranch and leaves many friends and colleagues who will miss his enthusiasm for sharing knowledge and history. He will forever be remembered as a loving man, generous with his time, and always will to make a difference. He is survived by his wife Margaret Keech of Santa Cruz, his son and daughter-in-law, William and Sunnie Keech, and their children Rachele and Caleb Keech of Santa Cruz, and his daughter Karen Keech, and her son, Evan Keech. He leaves his sister, Sarah Berg who lives in Cleveland, Heights Ohio. He was very close to his sister Martha's children and husband. Paul, Victor and Hollie Seidel.
