Doreen Amaral

Doreen Amaral passed away at her home in Capitola with her loving daughter Linda by her side on June 21, 2017. Doreen was born to Gregory Mudge and Violet Bradbury on October 19, 1928, in London, England. Although Doreen was born and raised in England she lived in various places in California as well, such as San Jose and Boulder Creek. Doreen was a Librarian for the San Lorenzo Valley Intermediate School and loved her job filling young minds with knowledge. In her spare time Doreen was an avid and accomplished painter and at one time was a Secretary for the Santa Cruz Art League. She was also a past Secretary of the senior center opportunities and was a member of the Knitting Club of the Mid Coutny Senior Center. Doreen was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years Raymond "Bud" Amaral in 1982. Doreen is survived by her devoted daughter, Linda Lee Amaral, sister, Sybil Smith, nephew, John and Becky Anson, and numerous nieces and nephews in England. A Memorial Service will be held for Doreen on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at Benito and Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel, 1050 Cayuga Street in Santa Cruz, beginning at 2 p.m. Friends and family are encouraged to attend a reception following the service at the chapel.
