Michael Paul May

October 4, 1962 – Feb. 3, 2016 A burial will be held in Moultrie, Georgia for long time Santa Cruz resident, Michael May who passed away unexpectedly at the age of 53. Born in Mountain Home, Idaho, Michael moved with his family between California, Florida, and Texas. He finally came back to Santa Cruz at the age of 20 where he owned and operated his own courier business for several years locally. Many fond memories of softball games, batting and playing catch in the Gault School Playground, and walks on Twin Lakes Beach with his two daughters after dinner will always be cherished. He was a fan of the Oakland A's Baseball Team. A classic car buff, Michael enjoyed long road trips; driving being a release for him and his free spirit. He enjoyed Southern home cooking, and this past holiday season was joined in the kitchen by his mom and daughters, who prepared Michael's favorites. He is survived by his two daughters, Lily and Laurel May of Santa Cruz, his mother, Margaret May of Moultrie, Georgia and his brother Brett May of Magnolia, Texas. Michael was preceded in death by his father, Lester Houston May. He will be laid to rest next to his grandmother in a private ceremony at Pinecrest Memory Gardens in Moultrie, GA.
