Erma Lina Dalbesio
May 28th, 1921 - January 28th, 2015
A recitation of the Holy Rosary and a Catholic Blessing Service will be held this Thursday and Friday in Santa Cruz for Erma Dalbesio who passed away peacefully in Santa Cruz at the age of 93. Born in Delebio, Sondrio, Italy to Martin and Ambrosina Farina, Erma moved to Half Moon Bay at the age of eight with her family. Erma was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Antone who passed away in 2008. She leaves her two sons and daughters-in-law, Edward and Margaret Dalbesio and Raymond and Allyson Dalbesio all of Sana Cruz; five beloved grandchildren; Robert, Amy, Sabrina, Jason (Amy) and Sara (Josh); her brother Lino Farina of South San Francisco, and six great grandchildren: Riley, Reese, Rowan, Jack, Brooke, and Summer, along with many nieces, nephews and extended family. Erma married the love of her life, Antone Dalbesio in 1941. They lived in San Francisco and San Miguel before relocating to Santa Cruz in 1948 where they owned and operated Tony's Market on Mission Street for many years. Following their retirement, they enjoyed travelling together in their motorhome. Erma was a devoted mother and loving "Noni". She adored spending time with her family, and will be greatly missed. Many fond memories will always be cherished of Erma's quick wit and sense of humor. Her unselfish nature always found her helping out someone. Her generosity and love were unconditional. Erma was a talented cook, and loved crocheting and gardening. She was a parishioner of Holy Cross Church and a member of the Branch No. 21 of the Italian Catholic Federation. Friends and family are welcome to pay their respects on Thursday February 5th from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Benito and Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel. The recitation of the Rosary will begin Thursday evening at 7 p.m. at the chapel. A Catholic Blessing Service will begin at 10 a.m. at Benito & Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel on Friday, February 6th with the committal service to follow at Holy Cross Mausoleum in Santa Cruz. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation at 1700 Owens Street, San Francisco, CA. 94158 or a favorite charity of your choice.
