Nancy Lange

Services will be in Santa Cruz on Tuesday and Santa Maria on Thursday for Nancy Lange who passed away at her Santa Cruz home on August 27, 2013 at the age of 95. Born in Santa Maria, California, she was a 5th generation Californian and a great- granddaughter of Isaac Fesler, one of the four original town founders. Nancy moved from Santa Maria to Phoenix in the mid 1940's and for the last 47 years, has resided in Santa Cruz. For more than 22 years, she worked in the electronic communications industry, and retired with Plantronics where she made many dear friends. Nancy enjoyed all kinds of music and loved to sing. She was a member of Sweet Adeline's for many years. Her family was of paramount importance to her, and many memories will be cherished of the traveling adventures together and the love that was shared. With her health and vision failing her these the past few years, she treasured the times spent with her daughter Elizabeth who devoted her days and nights caring for her. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ande and Karen Lange of Avondale, AZ; her daughter and son-in-law, Rayna and Eric Owers of Fountain Hills, AZ; her daughter Elizabeth Lange of Santa Cruz, her sister, Lurana Oldham of North Dakota, and her brother, Glenn "Bud" Thole of Mariposa. Nancy also leaves her five grandchildren; Traci, Robert, Roger, Geoff, and Karen, along with numerous loving great grandchildren and extended family. Nancy was preceded in death by her brother Norman, and her sisters, Kathleen, Pauline, Elizabeth, and her former spouse and dearest companion, Captain Ray A. Lange. Friends may pay their respects on Tuesday, September 3, from 9 am until 11 am at Benito and Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel in Santa Cruz followed by the funeral ceremony beginning at 11. Friends in Santa Maria can pay their respects at a viewing on Thursday, September 5, at Dudley Hoffman Funeral Home 1003 E. Stowell Road in Santa Maria from 10 a.m. until 12 noon.
