Charlotte Jane (Deardorff) Wynn October 10, 1950 – January 15, 2011 Creative, industrious, involved and caring, “Jane” had a big heart and a generous soul and will be greatly missed by her family, friends and the many organizations in which she was involved, she died peacefully at home on January 15, 2011 after a brief illness. Jane was 60 years old. Jane was born in Portland, Oregon to Willard and Betty Deardorff, their third child and only daughter, who joined big brothers, Gary and Don. The family moved to Molalla, Oregon when Jane was a few months old and it’s where she lived until her death. Jane graduated from Molalla Union High School with the class of 1968, where she was a cheerleader and a majorette. She started college at the University of Oregon, where she joined Pi Beta Phi Sorority. Her junior year, Jane transferred to Oregon State University to complete her Bachelor of Science degree in retail marketing. On November 19, 1971 of her senior year, she married her husband Garry Ray Wynn. Jane’s lists of accomplishments began at an early age, when she won 4-H awards for her skill as a seamstress, making many of her own clothes throughout high school. Energetic and artistic, Jane had two successful businesses in Molalla- one was A Touch of Glass, a stained glass studio and gift shop, where she taught classes in the art of stained glass and made custom windows for local homes and churches as well as luxury homes in Alaska and Arizona. Her second and current store, Wynn Designs, is located in the Main Street Showhouse in Molalla and is currently being run by Jane’s mother- in law, Betty Wynn. Jane had a flair for showcasing unique gifts, home décor, handbags, and jewelry and cowboy art fitting a Buckaroo town like Molalla. Always involved with her community, Jane was active in many organizations, she helped form Molalla Youth Sports, giving children an opportunity to play sports and learn good sportsmanship. She was involved with the high school alcohol-free grad party committee and was its chairman for many years. She served on the Molalla city council for seven years before resigning to build her new home on the family farm south of the city. Jane was a board member for the Molalla Area Chamber of Commerce, serving the past two years as its president and passing the gavel this December. Jan served on the Silverton Hospital board of directors since 2008. Jane was an active businesswoman, involved in several commercial enterprises. In addition to her art and gift shops, she was co-owner of Fourier Truck Service, Inc. with her husband Garry. She was involved with her brothers in commercials real estate, timberlands and Christmas trees. She also owns one of Clackamas County’s largest rock quarries. In all of her endeavors, Jane has met a multitude of people who have become lifelong friends and part of her greater “family”. With her husband Garry, her home became the de facto social center for friends to congregate. Jane’s infectious spirit, her energy and her involvement in causes and projects will be sorely missed. Jane is survived by her Parents, Willard and Betty Deardorff of Canby; husband of 39 years, Garry Ray Wynn; two sons and their wives, Brent and Lisa Wynn of Portland, Oregon and Darren and Bridgett Wynn of Molalla; grandson Chad of Molalla; brothers Gary and Don Deardorff, both of Molalla; and mother and father- in –law, Betty and Bud Wynn. She leaves nephews, Eric and Kevin Deardorff and Christopher and Eric DeSanto; nieces, Julie Deardorff Gilkison and Allison Deardorff; and three great-nephews and two great-nieces, Kyle, Ryan and Lauren Gilkison and Evan and Anna Rose Deardorff. A memorial service will be held at the Molalla Nazarene Church at 1:30 pm on January 31, 2011. Contributions in Jane’s name may be made to the Molalla Area Chamber of Commerce (P.O. Box 578, Molalla), or Molalla Youth Sports (P.O. Box 823, Molalla). Molalla Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements. Family is encouraged to provide an obituary or information that allows for an obituary to be written by our staff
