Douglas Guy Dilfer Douglas Guy Dilfer passed away on May 28, 2011 in Santa Cruz, at the age of 71. He was born and raised in Van Nuys, CA to Eugene and June Dilfer. Doug attended UCLA, where he earned a BA in Psychology. Doug moved to the Santa Cruz area about 42 years ago. He worked as a Probation Officer for about 15 years. Doug enjoyed gardening, cooking, going for walks, reading and his spiritual practice. Doug is survived by his wife of 31 years, Peggy Dilfer, daughters, Kelly Green and Patti Castaneda, son, Trent Dilfer, parents, Eugene and June Dilfer, sister, Lynn Rodriguez, 5 grandchildren, 4 nieces, and 7 nephews. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to, Ventana Wilderness Alliance P.O. Box 506 Santa Cruz, CA 95061 (Ventana Trails Forever Fund).
