John W. Brewer
August 28th, 1949 - December 8th, 2023
John W. Brewer, age 74, passed away quietly on December 8, 2023, in Roseville, California from Lewy Body Dementia. He was born August 8, 1949, in Hazel Green, Wisconsin to Harol J. Brewer and Loretta J. Brewer (nee. Meloy). His early years were spent in Benton, Wisconsin, then later in Flagstaff and Yuma, Arizona. He moved in 1966 to Anaheim, California with his parents and five siblings. John attended Western Hills High School in Anaheim, CA, where he met his wife of 53 years, Carol Johnson. After graduation from Cal State Fullerton, the couple moved to San Diego where John obtained his Juris Doctorate at University of San Diego Law School. He practiced law for 38 years in the San Diego area, specializing in wills and trusts. John retired in 2013. John and Carol lived in Santee, California for 47 years where they raised their son, Brian. John enjoyed baseball and followed his San Diego Padres closely. His greatest joy was playing catch with his son and watching him play baseball throughout Little League and high school. His other passion was golf and playing with his regular Sunday morning rounds with his golfing buddies. In the early 1980's, John and his wife started a small horse business and at one time owned 7 horses. John learned to ride and competed in a few horse shows with his horse, Coco. In later years, he obtained his pilot's license and enjoyed taking a Cessna up and around on mini trips. He loved the many cars he had over the years, especially his new 1967 Burgundy GTO, 1968 Jaguar XKE and his 1999 BMW 328is which he kept until 2023. His "baby" was left in good hands with his son, Brian. John is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carol and his son, Brian; daughter in law, Stephanie and two wonderful grandchildren, Austin and Brianna; as well as his brothers Robert Brewer (Priscilla), James Brewer, Thomas Brewer, and 11 nieces and nephews as well as their offspring. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Loretta Brewer, sister Kathi Hlavac and brother William (Scott) Brewer.
