Danny Ray Shaffer
April 15th, 1943 - December 5th, 2023
Danny Ray Shaffer passed away on December 5, 2023, at the age of 80. Born on April 15, 1943, Danny lived a life marked by passion, humor, and a commitment to his craft. Danny, son of Keith and Elsie, and brother to Donna, was loved by many. Born in Newton, Iowa, he was raised in Newton and attended Newton High School until the family picked up and set roots in Southern California. Danny graduated from San Fernando High School in 1961. While working as a custom car painter and a member of a local car club, he attended a car show at Bob’s Big Boy where he met the love of his life, a waitress named Diana Sue Levy. The two married and started a family in Sylmar, California. In 1973, Danny and Diana decided to move their four boys, Keith, Daniel, Eric, and Brett to Arvada, Colorado. Danny and Diana began their successful real estate careers and built a large home in Arvada, where Danny continued his love for cars by building and restoring a few for his boys. He was a devoted father and coach for youth football and baseball. In 1989, due to the struggling real estate market, Danny and Diana moved their family back to California, this time settling in the Northern town of Fair Oaks, where they combined forces and created a very successful real estate team. Danny Ray Shaffer's legacy is one of resilience, achievement, and compassion. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the community he served so faithfully. Danny is predeceased by his father Keith, his mother Elsie, his sister Donna, his wife Diana, and his sons Adam and Keith. Danny is survived by his sons Daniel Shaffer, Eric Shaffer, and Brett Shaffer; daughters-in-law Carole Shaffer, Jennifer Shaffer, and Jill Terrell; grandchildren Taylor Shaffer, Cassidy Womack (m. Adam Womack), Halee Lancaster (m. Tucker Lancaster), Zachary Shaffer, Mason Shaffer, Brayden Shaffer, Cienna Shaffer, Caysin Shaffer, and Chandler Terrell; great-grandchildren Nash Heagney, Aaliyah Howe, Francesca Womack, Ben Womack, and Cooper Lancaster; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews. Services for Danny will be held at Old St. Mary’s Chapel, 5251 Front Street, Rocklin, California, on Friday, February 9th, at Noon, with a reception to follow afterward at a location to be determined.
