August 14th, 1942 - December 29th, 2012
Lynn Regan, loving wife, mother, and grandmother passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 29, 2012 after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. She was surrounded by her family at home. Lynn was born August 14, 1942, in Brooklyn, New York. She moved to Connecticut at the age of 14, and graduated from Wilton High School, Class of 1960. She met her husband, Dave while they both worked at the local A&P grocery store. They married in 1962 and went on to raise four children, Jennifer Regan Siegmund of Santa Cruz, David M. Regan of Soquel, Christopher Regan of Laguna Beach, and Jason Regan of Los Gatos. The family moved to Santa Cruz in 1983, where she resided until her death. An avid and prolific quilter, Lynn made numerous, beautiful quilts for her family and loved ones. Other hobbies she enjoyed included gardening, various craft projects, antiquing, and interior design. She loved to travel, and during her life, she traveled extensively around the world. She was involved in various community and philanthropic organizations including Omega Nu, the Capitola Opera Guild, and the Uptown Ladies. Lynn also supported her husband Dave in his career as General Manager and Publisher of the Santa Cruz Sentinel. Lynn recently celebrated her 50th wedding anniversary with her husband Dave, at a party held in their honor in Connecticut, where they enjoyed the company of their many relatives and friends. This was followed by a weeklong vacation with their children and grandchildren at their family home in New Hampshire. She leaves her husband, Dave, daughter Jennifer Regan Siegmund (Dieter), and sons David M. Regan (Sandra), Christopher Regan, and Jason Regan. Lynn's pride and joy were her five grandchildren, Stephanie, Alex, and Emily Regan, and Katie and William Siegmund, whom she loved to support by attending school and sporting events. She is also survived by her sister, Regina Pitcher Sheltmire and brother, Lawrence Pitcher, and was pre-deceased by her parents, Dick and Gwen Pitcher. The family expresses their utmost gratitude to her extended family and friends for their love and support.
