John Milne

A graveside ceremony will be held in Santa Nella, California this Wednesday, for John Thomas Milne who passed away in Santa Cruz on July 3, following a very lengthy illness. Born in San Jose, California, he was 51 years old. John graduated from Sierra High School in the foothills east of Fresno. Many fond memories of John will forever be cherished by his family of his love of the snow covered mornings at their home in Shaver Lake. John was a talented athlete and played football at Sierra High School, and threw a no hitter in Little League. He was passionate about working on his 1955 Chevy, and the Oakland Raiders Football Team. (Not necessarily in that order) Following high school graduation, he joined the US Army, serving with the 82nd Airborne Division as a paratrooper. John traveled extensively in the army and parachuted in Puerto Rico, Panama, Egypt, and Grenada. He was proud to serve his country and felt very fortunate to have made lifelong friendships from comraderies shared in the service. He is survived by his parents Richard and Diane Milne, his daughter, Adria, his son Miles, and his sister, Kelly Hollerbach, along with countless friends and extended family who will miss him and will never forget the bravery he displayed throughout his illness. John will be laid to rest with military honors at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella, California on Wednesday July 15 at 1:30 p.m. Any kind acts of charity can be made to help find a cure for Huntington's disease. hdsa.org "GO RAIDERS"
