Linda Miller
January 1st, 2001
Linda Taylor Miller died May 30, 2009 at Enloe Hospital in Chico, California due to complications from a short illness. A memorial service is being held Saturday, June 20, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the Brusie Funeral Home in Chico. Linda was born October 11, 1942 in Oil City, Pennsylvania, to the Rev. Harold B. Taylor and Eleanore (Heasley) Taylor. The family soon moved to Nebraska where she had many fond memories of her childhood years in Sidney and Columbus. Linda graduated from Kearney State College in Kearney, Nebraska with her degree in elementary education. She married Stanley R. Miller, later divorced, and had two children, Cordie and Neil. Linda then spent 26 years teaching at Bryant Elementary School in Kearney. She fulfilled her dream of living in Northern California when she retired in 2003 and moved to Chico, CA. She loved the six years she had of retirement, spending most of her time with her children and grandchildren in California and Utah. She often told others this was the happiest time in her life. Linda is survived by her daughter, Cordie Burgess (Chris) of Chico, CA; her son, Neil Miller (Rebecca) of Draper, UT; her grandchildren, Konnor Burgess, Ainsley Burgess, Alexandra Miller and Grant Miller; her sister, Harriet Taylor; her brother, Stephen Taylor (Joyce); and her nephew, Barton Taylor. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to either: Friends of the Chico Library or the Jack London Ranch Restoration Fund in care of the Brusie Funeral Home.
