John Stephen Parks
July 4th, 1949 - October 5th, 2020
Obituary Born John Stephen Parks to parents John William Parks and Kathryn Virginia Sperry. He was born in Poudre Valley Hospital on the Fourth of July of 1949. He lived most of his life in LaPorte and Fort Collins except for 7 years in Jeffery City, Wyoming. He graduated from Poudre High in 1968, and attended Front Range after high school. He met his wife, the love of his life, Judith Sue (Judy) Bowser their senior year, (yes, love at first kiss.) They married April 12, 1969, and spent 51 and a half plus years together. They have two wonderful children, Scott and Debbie, the lights of his life. John worked construction most of his life, a trade he learned from his father. John started his career as a carpenter, then a Superintendent, then a Project Manager. During his career he built homes, schools, banks, libraries, dorms, post office, hospitals and million-dollar Justice Centers for various companies in the Fort Collins area. There are many other structures he had the honor of being involved with in their construction. He is preceded in death by his Father, Uncle, Aunt, cousin, and in-laws. His family has always been his life, his priority, his pride, his whole being, and he was a wonderful father, husband and friend. He is survived by his mother, Kathryn, wife Judy (Bowser), his son Jeremy Scott (Michelle) of Ft. Collins, daughter Debra Ann Parks Clay (Brandon) of Laramie, WY. His grandchildren Colby Clay, Kallee Parks, Camree Parks, Hailee Chavez, Marcus Chavez-Parks, Emilee Chavez (Andrew White). His brother Jim Parks (Margaret), sisters: Margalou Reardon (LeRoy), Sylvia Hoover (Larry) and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. He rejoiced with pride in the fact of being born on the Fourth of July; after all, the nation celebrated his birthday! He never tired upon being asked his name and birthday. He felt in was only appropriate that he was to die in the hospital he was born in, going full circle. He suffered years with Rheumatoid Arthritis but you'd never have known of all his pain. Thanks to the respect of his caring doctors and all his wonderful, compassionate nurses (our Hidden Angles), he passed into heaven peacefully. God blessed him with love. He truly was a great, honorable, compassionate man. We will truly miss him. To plant Memorial Trees in memory of John Stephen Parks, please click here to visit our Sympathy Store.
