Joseph F. Brennan, brother-in-law of Carmen Loza, passed away Thursday, November 12, 2009 at Country Commons Care Home in Chico where he has lived for the past 3 years. Joe was born and raised in San Francisco, son of Irish immigrants, Patrick and Anna Brennan. Joe served in the Armed Forces and was honorably discharged in 1950. He was employed by the Department of Public Works of S.F. for over 20 years. Joe moved to Chico after the death of his wife, Ramona Brennan. His home has been at Country Commons where he has been lovingly cared for, as they have become a part of his family. He loved Irish music, dancing and boxing. His favorite celebrity of all time was Joe Louis and he would get so excited talking about him. There will be a Visitation at Brusie Funeral Home Tuesday, November 17, 2009 from 12 noon to 5:00 p.m. On Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at Our Divine Savior Catholic Church in Chico, there will be a Viewing beginning at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Rosary at 9:30 a.m. and then his Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma, CA. Donations can be made in his name to Butte Home Health and Hospice or Country Commons Care Home, 966 Kovak Ct., Chico, CA 95973.
