JoAnn Eslinger
September 8th, 1927 - December 16th, 2016
JoAnn Eslinger passed away December 16, 2016. She was 89 years old. JoAnn was born September 8th, 1927 in Joplin Missouri to Montie H. Massey and Thelma Ellen Taylor Massey. She married Paul Ellis Eslinger and moved to Salinas in 1948. JoAnn went to work at Houden Fish Cannery from 1950-1954. She then went to work at the Social Security Administration and enjoyed her work every day until she retired after 22 years. During her retirement JoAnn was actively involved with numerous community organizations such as ABWA and Angela’s Angels. JoAnn also volunteered with the Democratic National Committee and worked the county polls for many years. JoAnn has many friends and a small group of friends that gathered together weekly to play her favorite card game “31”. JoAnn was a kind, loving and giving woman. She will be missed by all. JoAnn is survived by her son Michael Eslinger and his wife Linda. 7 Grandchildren Justin (Nadine) Pedersen, Jarred (Perla) Pedersen, Steven (Chassie) Eslinger, Sarah Eslinger, Erik Eslinger, Jason Eslinger & Jerry (Rob) Ikehorn as well as 8 great grandchildren which she loved very much! She is preceded in death by her husband Paul, son Steven, daughter Connie and her grandson Brian. Visitation and Services will be held on Saturday, December 24th, 2016 at 10am at Healey Mortuary, 405 N Sanborn Road, Salinas.

Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
