Charles Kunkle
October 11th, 1945 - April 10th, 2017
Charles Edward Kunkle, 71, passed away at his home in Salinas Monday, April 10, 2017. Affectionally known as "Maynard", Charlie was born in Allentown, PA October 11, 1945 and has lived in the Salinas Valley for 50 years. He worked for close to 40 years at the Kaiser Refractory and proudly served in the the U.S. Army. Charlie is survived by his wife, Lora Kunkle, his three daughters, Mina Rosales, Tina Grantham, and Carrie Kunkle, along withh two step children, Terra Petersen and William Candiloro. He leaves three brothers, Wilbur, Warren, and Ronald Kunkle along with thirteen grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Warren Kunkle Sr. and Gladys Alice Kunkle. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 14, 2017 9am-10am at Healey Mortuary 405 N. Sanborn Rd Salinas, CA 93905. Funeral Services will be held Friday, April 14, 2017 at 10:00 AM at the Healey Mortuary. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery, 850 Abbott St., Salinas, CA 93901. Charlie was the life of the party! He will truly be missed. See you "MAYNARD"

Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
