Betty Ann Mason

Betty Ann Arnold-Hafner-Mason was born January 1, 1932 in Sanish, ND., to Earle Leonard Arnold and Lillian Olga Disserud Arnold, the fifth of six children. She moved to Oregon City in 1939, by way of Richland, WA and Lincoln City. Betty graduated from Oregon City High School, then married Robert E. Hafner, a career Navy man, and lived in Guan, Hawaii, San Diego, Bremerton and finally in West Linn until Bob's untimely death in 1965. Betty worked for Crown Zellerbach, then met and married Kenneth Valentine, moving to Anchorage, Alaska for ten years, then returned to West Linn. Betty has one son, Robert Hafner Jr., and two daughters, Kim and Lisa Valentine. Betty married Carl Mason in 1976, and lived in Colton, Lincoln City, Charbonneau, Aurora, Tucson, AZ., and finally back to Aurora in 2014. Betty loved her family and the many friends that she made wherever she lived. She was a very active golfer, collecting many trophies and awards, and an accomplished ceramic artist. Betty is survived by her husband Carl, son Bob and wife Jeri, Grandchildren; Jaclyn and husband Drew Force and great grandchildren Isac and Dala, daughters Kim and Lisa Mason, and Carl's children Jane and Mindy Bachmier, Steve and Don Mason and their families. Betty is also survived by sisters Joyce Wilson, Beulah Chimiente, Yvonne Stewart of Canby, Shirley Atherton and their families. A brother, Leonard Arnold preceded her in death. Funeral Arrangements are by the Canby Funeral Chapel, with a service of Life Remembrance at Aurora Lutheran Church, officiated by Pastor Craig Johnson on January 3rd, at 2:00 PM.
