Lorraine Eloise Hutton, 86, passed away with all her family at her side on Monday, June 21, 2010. She was born in Durham, CA on July 5, 1923 to Maude and Leroy Ford. Lorraine went to Durham Schools and graduated from Durham High School. She married Lloyd Hutton and they lived in Marysville, CA and she worked as a beautician until her sons were born and then became a full time mother and housewife. When Lloyd retired in 1980, they moved back to Durham to farm their 70 acres of almonds. You could always find Lorraine and her sister, Vivian "sitter" out in the almond orchards at harvest time raking almonds. Lorraine loved to go up to the West Branch campground (also known as Ritchie's flat) or Philbrook Lake for a picnic/BBQ with her family. Lorraine's father, Leroy Ford was a small child when his parents ran the "Chaparral", a hotel for the passersby just above If Inskip. So the tradition of camping and picnicking continued over the years. She also loved to pal around with her sister, Vivian Pyle and friends, Alma Pyle and Thelma Johnson. They would go every year to Greenville in July to watch her daughter-in-law's softball tournament. Lorraine was always seen at the softball and baseball games cheering on her great grandkids. Lorraine is survived by two sons, Gary Hutton (Melani) of Browns Valley, Gregg Hutton (Sue) of Durham; her four grandchildren, Jessica Vinsonhaler (Aaron) of Durham, Christine Fullmore (Kris) of Orland, Ryan Hutton (Kim), Cory Hutton (Amy) of Yuba City and five great-grandchildren, Trenton, Kaya, Mason, Ryder and Leah. She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 24, 2010 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Bidwell Chapel. Memorial services will be held at Glen Oaks on Friday, June 25, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. Donations can be made to the Durham Volunteer Fire Dept. or charity of your choice
