Barbara Moore
June 14th, 1938 - December 16th, 2017
Barbara Ann Moore,79, passed away on Saturday December 16, 2017. She was a longtime Salinas resident. Barbara was born in Bakersfield, CA and moved to Gonzales, CA at sixteen. While attending Gonzales High School she met her future husband, Jimmie Ray Moore. They were know on campus as “Big Mo and Little Mo”. They married in 1956 and were very devoted to one another for over 61 years. Barbara’s biggest joy in life was her grandchildren, Cassie Moore , Trae Moore, Katie (Marshall) Noble, Ian MacDonald, Colin MacDonald, Jillian (Daniel) Collura, Tyler Daly, Samantha Martinusen and Jacquelyn Martinusen,. Her great grandchildren, Charlotte Noble and Kasen Collura. Barbara was a Girl Scout leader for many years. She was involved in Little League. She opened her home to many children as a place to gather and share life and experiences. She and Jim loved to take groups of friends and children to the lake camping and water skiing. Barbara loved her family and her family loved her. She will be remembered with lots of love and missed deeply. Barbara is survived by her husband, Jimmie Ray Moore, her son J.R. Moore, daughter Rebecca MacDonald, daughter Sue (Michael) Martinusen , brother Steve (Diana) Henderson, sister Sandi Swanson. Barbara was preceded in death by her father, Joshua Henderson, and her mother Marjorie Mae Swanson, and step father Carl Swanson, and her brothers Charles Henderson, John Henderson and David Swanson. Memorial Services will be held December 28, 2017 at 1PM at Healey Mortuary 405 N. Sanborn Rd. Salinas, CA. Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
