Corina Miranda
August 4th, 1984 - December 12th, 2017
Our beloved Corina Alyssa Ramirez Miranda, 33, went home to be with our Lord on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 in her Salinas home surrounded by her loving family. Corina was born to Juan Manuel Ramirez and Mona Villalpando on August 4, 1984 in Salinas, CA. She attended Everett Alvarez High School and Hartnell Community College. Corina lived the majority of her life in her hometown of Salinas, save for the last 12 years during which her husband was stationed first in North Carolina and later in Alaska. A devoted wife and loving mother, Corina married her soulmate, Richard Miranda, on September 10, 2005. From that blessed union came five beautiful children, ranging in age from 2-13. In addition to a tight knit family nucleus, Corina had countless other family and friends whom she touched with her illuminating smile, strong fighting spirit, and selflessness. Corina had a smile that would light up a room and a zest for life that made it a joy to be a part of anything she was involved with. Corina’s courage, strength, and unwavering positivity served as an inspiration to countless people, especially those who shared the same struggle as she. Corina’s passion was her family. Since returning to Salinas, she spent day after day with her children, her grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces. Oftentimes she was playing Loteria, bingo, or just hanging out, sharing life experiences or reminiscing on days past. Holidays were celebrated full speed ahead, especially Halloween. An avid football fan, Corina, “Nutty” or “Ninuts” as she was often lovingly referred to, had an allegiance to the Florida Gators and the Dallas Cowboys, making hers a house divided (Richard is a 49ers fan). She enjoyed watching a wide array of movies from: her early love, The Wizard of Oz, to her latest interest, Super Hero movies. Movie quotes were her specialty, oftentimes sparking a conversation or piquing curiosity about a particular movie. Through it all, the one constant was her smile. That smile that let the world know that there was no challenge too big for her to overcome, no obstacle too high for her to get over, and nothing that could steal her joy and her love of life. That smile that everyone gravitated to. That smile that when coupled with her warm laughter could win over an entire group. Corina is preceded in death by her beloved grandfather, Ignacio S. “Welo” Ramirez. Corina is survived by her loving husband, Richard Miranda. Her daughter Jazmine, her sons Richard, Jr., Raymond, Robert, and Remington. Her father, Juan Manuel Ramirez and her mother, Mona Villalpando, her brother, Juan Diego Ramirez, her sister in law, Josie Ramirez and their four children Lauren, Emily, Taylor and Noah, her half-sisters Kobi and Kayla Ramirez, and her grandparents Marta Ramirez and Viviente “Tito” and Juanita Villalpando. Corina is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, as well as many family and friends. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 18, 2017 from 12pm-4 pm and 7-9 PM at Healey Mortuary, 405 N. Sanborn Rd., Salinas, CA 93905. Rosary will take place on Monday, December 18, 2017 at 5 pm at Madonna del Sasso Church, 320 E. Laurel Drive, Salinas, CA 93906. Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at 10 am at Madonna del Sasso Church. Burial will follow services at Garden of Memories Cemetery, 850 Abbott St., Salinas, CA 93901.

We Entrusted Corina Miranda's Care To
Healey Mortuary
At Healey, we treat our Salinas Valley community members like family. Our story begins after World War II when Veteran Herbert C. Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
