Marcella Clark
September 18th, 1922 - December 27th, 2017
Reva Marcella Spilman Clark, age 95, passed away peacefully at Pacific Grove Convalescent Hospital on December 27, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Marcella was born on September 18, 1922 in Atchison, Kansas to parents Reva Mohler Spilman and Harold Arthur Spilman. Marcella graduated from Atchison High School in 1940. She attended Ottawa University in Kansas. She worked for Beech Aircraft in Wichita, Kansas during WWII. It was there she met her husband Chester Clark and they married in 1943. They moved to Salinas, California in 1949. Marcella worked for Sears in Salinas and was Secretary of First Southern Baptist Church, now known as Valley Baptist Church, for many years. She was a member of Valley Baptist Church. Marcella was a homemaker, a loving wife and mother. She will be missed by many. Marcella was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years Chester Allen Clark; daughter Bonnie Torma Clark; parents Harold and Reva Spilman of Atchison, Kansas; and brother Wayne Spilman. She is survived by her son James C. Clark (Debbie) of Los Banos, California; daughters Reva Sue Bailey of Palo Alto, California and Kerrie Anne Clark Monterey, California; grandsons David Wanzong of Salinas, California and James D. Clark of Los Banos, California; granddaughters Gretel Baumgartner (Jim) of Corvallis, Oregon, Christy Stacy (Tim) of Hollister, California, and Shelby Morasca (Casey) of Frisco, Texas; four great-grandchildren Jasper, Rose, Sydney, and Stella; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank her caregivers, especially Ema and Louina; friends and neighbors; Pacific Grove Convalescent Hospital; and Central Coast VNA and Hospice. We appreciate your compassion and generosity during this difficult time. An internment will be held Tuesday January 23, 2018 at 2pm in the North Courtyard of Garden of Memories at 850 Abbott Street in Salinas, California. It will be followed by an informal gathering at the family home. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to your favorite charity. rtuary.com
