DONNA JUNE (METZGER) MOOBERRY Born on June 29, 1919 to J.E. Metzger and Blanche (Wadlington) Metzger. The Wadlington's are long time residents of Butte County and are listed in the history of Butte County. She passed away on December 5, 2010 from natural causes, at the age of 91. She attended Chico Vecino School, Central School and graduated from Chico High School. After graduation, she attended Golden Empire College Commerce, then went to work for Chico Chamber of Commerce. While working at the Chamber of Commerce, she volunteered at the USO. She met her future husband, S/Sgt. Donald J. Mooberry. Later, she went to work for the YMCA in Inglewood, CA. After her husband was discharged, they moved back to Chico and Paradise, and she went to work for Mid Valley Title Escrow. When they retired, they traveled in their motor home. As they both liked the outdoors, they traveled to most of the State and National Parks, including Alaska. They also loved to hunt & fish. Her #1 priority was her family, as she came from a very close family, it was important to her that her family remain close.
