DARLENE DENNEY Jan. 5, 1938 - Jan. 25, 2011 Darlene Denney passed away at her home in Napa, California, surrounded by her loving family. She was 73 years old. She departed this world amidst joyful conversation, as all present were speaking of fond memories and remembrances of Darlene's life. Special thanks to Tania and Tracey, her care providers. Born Darlene Clark in Chico, California, Darlene met Rowland at a dance at the VFW Hall in Paradise, California and married him in 1956, and together they enjoyed 54 years of marriage. Darlene spent her young adult years working for her mother, Bea Burton (Clark) at the "Co-ed Beauty Salon" on Broadway in Chico, California. They moved to Napa in 1968, where she worked at "Carma's Cut & Curl" on Jefferson Street for many years. Darlene and Rowland raised their girls in Napa and enjoyed many happy times. Darlene will always be remembered as a jubilant and kind person, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and caring friend. She is lovingly survived by her husband, Rowland Denney; her sister, Adara Osborne; her daughters, Adele Creel and Michelle Ruiz; her niece, Sherrie Johnson and her nephew, Bobby Seevers; her five grandchildren, Holly, Jacob, Elizabeth, Lydia, and Zechary; and her four great-grandchildren, Allison, Olivia, Jacob II, and Maia. Darlene is also survived by her mother's sister, her aunt, Dorothy Gibbony, and her cousin, Cyntra. Services in remembrance of Darlene Denney will be held on February 5, 2011 at Brusie Funeral Home in Chico, CA at 1:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held some weeks later for all her friends in Napa.
