Jose Soto
May 6th, 1992
Jose, or "June Bug" as he was often called, played Little League Baseball for Ferassi Park in Santa Rita and freshman football at North High School. Although he was just learning to cook, he and his family enjoyed his food; one of his favorites was Chinese cuisine. He enjoyed cars, the ocean, riding his bike, talking on the telephone, making people laugh, and spending time with family and friends. His true passion was creating and listening to Rap music. Jose was often found wearing his favorite black sweater and San Francisco Giants baseball cap. His friends often relied on him for advice, as he was an excellent listener and friend to many. Jose anxiously looked forward to his 16th birthday, where he would have attained his drivers license and got a job. He will be greatly missed by all. He is survived by parents Leslie & Jose Soto, Jr. of Salinas sister Ashleigh Soto of Salinas brothers Eric Martinez of San Jose Elias Soto of Salinas maternal grandparents Jose & Martha Martinez of Salinas paternal grandmother Aida Soto of Chicago, Illinois numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He also leaves behind numerous friends. Preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Jose Soto Sr.

We Entrusted Jose Soto's Care To
Healey Mortuary
At Healey, we treat our Salinas Valley community members like family. Our story begins after World War II when Veteran Herbert C. Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
