A Mass for Ted R. Crane, 91 of Chico will be held on Friday, October 7, 2011 at 1 p.m. at the Newman Center. Ted passed away on October 2, 2011 in Chico. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 9, 1919. Growing up he spent many summers having great fun with his aunts, Uncles, and cousins in Bayfield, Canada. After high school, Ted joined the Navy to become a Signalman during WWII. He moved to Chico in 1963 and became involved with the "Y's Men's Club and Cub Scouts as "Cub Master". Many people knew Ted through his family Business, Hickory Farms. The family operated Hickory Farms for 21 years. He was a loving husband and father and will be greatly missed. Ted enjoyed a game of golf, traveling and was a passionate fan of the S.F. Giants and 49ers. In 2004, he married Ruth Anne Jacobs at St. Johns Catholic Church and spent many happy years traveling and enjoying their retirement. Ted is preceded in death by his first wife Marjorie of 58 years, his son Michael Crane and grandson Jared Crane. He is survived by wife Ruth Anne and children Diane {Paul} Jackson, Nancy {Mark} Stahl, William {Jani} Crane, James Crane, grandchildren Bryan {Michelle} Fortino, Michelle {Dave} Thomas, 5 stepchildren Alan, Wade, Russell Williams, Mary Miller and Mathew Jacobs. Memorial contributions can be made in Ted's memory to the Torres Shelter and Salvation Army in care of Brusie Funeral Home.
