Mercy was a member of 'The Friends of the Redeemer', Madonna del Sasso Parrish, California School Employees Association, and of the Teamsters Local #890 of Salinas. Mercy graduated from Salinas High School in 1953. She had worked at Spiegels/Dalgetty Foods for 30 years. She also worked for Hartnell College for 5 years, in addition to operating her own business, 'Mercy's Tax Service'. Mercy enjoyed traveling. Her most recent trips to Italy, Mexico City, and Hawaii. Mercy enjoyed water aerobics, and especially spending time with family and friends. she is survived by husband of 49 years, Manuel Arias of the family home sons Andy (Barbara) Arias of Reno, Nevada and Manuel Arias, Jr. of Salinas daughters Lupe (John) Kinnear of Gonzales Dolores (Jimmy) Garcia of Salinas Lucy (Ramon) Serrano of Salinas Sally (John) Lorono of Salinas sister Ophelia Guerra of Brentwood eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and loving friends Monday October 15, 2007 , 1 PM - 5 PM at Healey Mortuary Click for Map and Directions Monday October 15, 2007 , 7 PM at Madonna Del Sasso Catholic Church Click for Map and Directions Tuesday October 16, 2007 , 10 AM at Madonna Del Sasso Catholic Church Click for Map and Directions

Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
