Obituary We are sad to announce the unexpected passing of Raymond "Ray" Ortiz Jr. 59, of Loveland passed away at his home with his Wife and Son on Tuesday, March 13, 2018. Ray was born on March 7, 1959 at Poudre Valley Hospital to Ray Ortiz Sr. and Martha Labadia. He was his Father's bright and bouncy boy. Ray grew up in Ft. Collins. His passion was playing sports especially baseball. In Lincoln Junior High he was a basketball player they won state championships. While sports may have been a part of his life, a shiny B-5 blue Roadrunner soon caught his eye. He would always see it parked in Old Town. Living behind the local Dodge Dealer soon sparked his love for those mighty Mopars. He played baseball growing up and decided to play for Poudre High School. As soon as he could drive his Dad bought him his very own 1970 B-5 Blue Roadrunner. He got the need for speed soon after which was inherited from his Dad. Not too soon later he ended up falling for the girl of his dreams; He knew that he had to have her. They were married on her birthday June 18, 1978. Just a couple months later they had their first child a daughter, Diana Ortiz on August 17, 1978. Ray went to school for Auto Mechanics after graduating from Poudre High School. He loved working on cars. They wanted to expand their flock and ended up with their son being born on June 18, 1984. Ray wanted to honor his Dad and named his son Raymond Lee Ortiz III. Ray decided to move to Loveland to raise his family. He had lots of Joy raising his children. He met his two best friends and brothers; Jim and Jerry Lindbloom. They shared a passion for cars, music and causing trouble. One of Ray's biggest accomplishments was graduating from Aims Community College with his AA. His dream was to graduate from CSU with his son; they shared a passion for cars and racing. He was always playing jokes on his Wife and Children. Some of his proudest moments were taking care of his Dad in his last months. Taking care of his Wife and giving her the love, strength and courage that she needed. He was a rock and encouraged her to never give up even when she felt hopeless. They spent almost forty years inseparable. Through the good and the bad he loved going to Bandimere with his family. He especially was overcome with joy watchi8ng his son took a Dodge Challenger RT to the finals. He dreamed of being the crew chief for his son and daughter. Every night before bed Ray and his wife would read the bible and do their prayers. He always said no matter how bad life can is God is there and will guide you through the dark and into his rays of sunshine. Ray was preceded in death by his father, Ray Ortiz.
