Thomas "Frank" Quilty
March 30th, 1946 - February 26th, 2018
Obituary Frank Quilty was born in Naperville, Ill., the son of Helen (Wagner) Quilty and omas Francis Quilty II. He passed away peacefully a er a long battle with multiple health issues. Survived by: Wife and business partner of 35 years: Sidney Sue Slade. Sons: Brian (Shinil) Quilty and Scott (Kristen) Quilty. Grandchildren: Amanda, Dalton, and Hayden Quilty. Sister: Junie (Quilty) Henderson. Early Years: Frank grew up in Illinois, where he attended boarding schools, and later moved to California where he graduated from Bellarmine College Preparatory in 1964. He married Joann (Silviera) Quilty and welcomed their sons Brian (1966) and Scott (1972). Frank joined the Army in 1966 and was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War, intercepting enemy transmissions. A er his service Frank settled in the San Jose area, graduated San Jose State with a degree in Accounting and began working as a Certi ed Public Accountant. Frank’s career included controllership of various corporations and ownership of an alternative energy retailer. Later Frank owned a small public accounting practice in Carmel Valley Village, and was a partner with Sidney in owning and operating Wills Fargo restaurant. Interests: Frank was an active outdoors type, enjoying backpacking, camping and running marathons. He and Sidney explored the Sierras, Los Padres National Forest, and the Napali Coast. ey also traveled extensively throughout the United States and internationally. Frank thrived on giving back to his communities, coaching his sons’ sports teams and volunteering to various local organizations; spending 30 years participating in the Carmel Valley Kiwanis. As a Kiwanis member Frank helped establish the annual Carmel Valley Fiesta, served as treasurer for many years and received the Good Egg Award.
