Peter Ian Murray

Peter Murray a resident of Carmel for 20 years, passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2017 following a long fight against cancer He is survived by his wife Gisela and son Chris. Born in London England, Peter moved with his parents to Australia when he was 15 and graduated from Sydney University. Peter moved to the USA in 1967 and he and his family had several work assignments overseas including Paris and Tokyo. His family visited Carmel in the early 80s when they lived in Los Gatos, and this experience lead them to move to Carmel in 1997 when they returned from the overseas assignment in Japan. Peter loved Carmel, the beaches and scenery and the quaint and charming houses, and the interesting people from all over the world. He jogged along the beach, then rode on a bicycle and then walked and never tired of the natural beauty of the Carmel coastline. All through his fight with cancer he remained positive and in good humor and made the most of life For Peter the "bottle of life" was always half-full. He will be very much missed by his family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Service Information
