Bonnie Patrick
December 8th, 1936 - August 17th, 2016
On Wednesday, August 17, 2016 our beloved Aunt Bonnie, 79 of Yuba City, cashed in her chips and went to the Big Casino in the sky. Bonnie was born in Webbers Falls, Oklahoma on December 8, 1936. She was preceded in death by her parents Everett Isaac and Alma Honeycutt, her husband, Alvi Patrick, her sisters, Maxine White and Ethel Taylor, her brothers, Clyde Clark and Robert Tilley, and her nephew Todd Clark. She is survived by her brother-in-law, James White Sr. of Yuba City, nephews James White Jr. (Vicky) of Loma Rica, Mike Stafford (Laura) of Bryan, TX, Mark Clark (Jody) of Winnemucca, NV, Mike Clark of Winnemucca, NV, and nieces Karen Troxel (Alan) of Wheatland, Marsha White of Yuba City, Robin Hudson (Dave) of Shelton, WA and Michelle Taylor of Phoenix, AZ. She is also survived by many great and great-great nephews and nieces. Bonnie moved to the Yuba-Sutter area at a young age and completed her education here. It was here that she met the love of her life, Al Patrick. They met at a dance where Al was dancing with one of Bonnie's friends, but Al liked Bonnie a bit better. Alas, he was shipped out to be a paratrooper in Korea. Upon his return, however, he looked Bonnie up and after that they were always together. They were soon married and began a life together barely escaping the '55 Yuba City flood. Al had wanderlust and they found themselves living in many other cities including Anchorage, AK; Eugene, OR and Yuma, AZ, always returning to the Yuba-Sutter area where their love story began. Prior to Al's passing in 1994, he penned the world's greatest love letter which Bonnie quietly carried with her everywhere. Only upon her passing and the discovery of that letter was the true depth of their devotion to each other revealed. After Al passed, Bonnie and her niece Marsha became inseparable best buddies. They went everywhere together. They took many road trips to Colusa Casino, Las Vegas, Colusa Casino, Fort Bragg, Colusa Casino, and once, to an old ghost town out in the desert somewhere. This trip was recommended by Marsha's dad, a renowned desert picker. Upon their arrival at the ghost town, the howling wind was whipping up a serious sand storm and the temperature was in the 100's. Bonnie refused to get out of the car. She always knew a bad idea when she saw one. Also at this time, Bonnie began "just helping out" at her niece Karen's bookkeeping and tax office. She started out answering phones and doing some filing. As her vast knowledge of office skills became apparent, she was soon a full-time employee. Holding down the front desk at Troxel's Front Page, she covered the phone, made appointments, organized oceans of receipts, created spreadsheets and other prep work to make the bookkeepers' job easier, and so much more. The clients began to look forward to seeing Bonnie's beaming smile. On days when Bonnie was off work everyone asked, "Where's Bonnie? We miss her." She was truly the sunshine of the office. And the sunshine of our lives. Via con Dios Bonnie. We miss you terribly. Tell Al we said "Hi". Arrangements are under the direction of Ullrey Memorial Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 11 A.M. on Wednesday, August 24th at Sutter Cemetery, Sutter, CA. -
