Robert Austin Bryant passed away at his home on February 15th. He was born August 18, 1927 to Walter and Berniece Bryant. Bob spent his whole life in the twin cities. Calling Marysville his home for the first 20 years of his life before crossing the river to meet and marry his sweetheart Kathrine Frye. Bob was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting and fishing as much as farming. He and Gene Lonon and Tom Frye went on many hunting and fishing excursions. His passion for farming was unparalleled, growing baby lima beans, safflower, wheat, milo and other row crops for over 50 years. You could always tell our dad when he drove by, in his cowboy hat, hickory shirt and black lab companion in his truck. Bob was very involved with his community. He was a long standing member of the Masons, Rotary Club of Yuba City, Fair Board, Water Board in Meridian and the Republican Central Committee in Yuba City. His love of the outdoors earned him a spot on the State Dept. of Fish and Game Commission. Our father also drove cancer patients to UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento for many years. Bob is preceded in death by his daughter Debra Bryant. He is survived by his wife of 69 years Kathrine Bryant, brother Richard Bryant of Marysville, sons Craig (Dorothy) and Tom Bryant, daughter Kathleen (Chuck) Carlson, grandchildren Charles and Emily Carson, Zakary and Maxwel Bryant, and Eric and Michael Bryant. He will be missed by many. We love you Dad (Grandpa). A funeral service will be held at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church in Yuba City, 1390 Franklin Rd. Reception to follow at church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to UC Davis Breast Cancer Research, 4501 X St., Sacramento, CA 95817, and donations for an agricultural scholarship to be awarded to a Marysville graduate can be sent to Tom Bryant, 28 Betsey Way, Chico, CA 95926.
