Stephen E. Crowell
April 24th, 1937 - January 20th, 2021
Stephen E. Crowell Steve Crowell was born in Skagway Alaska on April 24, 1937 to Stephen C. and Doris M. (nee Hicks) Crowell. He grew up in many states, but spent most of his youth in Michigan. He is preceded in death by both parents and his brother Donald Crowell. He is survived by his daughters Lise Crowell and Kirsten Fischer (husband Scott), grandchildren Aidan and Olivia Fischer, his brother Bruce Crowell (wife Libby) and many nieces and nephews. He graduated from Lapeer High School in 1954, and continued his education at Michigan State University and Alma College. He was a police officer in Dearborn, MI and joined the Army. He was an extremely proud graduate of the Army Language Institute in Monterey and spoke Russian fluently. This began his love for languages, the Monterey area and the ocean. He worked as a Mechanical Engineer for Adolph Coors Company, and lived with his family in Colorado, for his entire engineering career. Upon retirement, he relocated to Sequim, WA where he enjoyed volunteering to organize recreational soccer referees and playing percussion in the Sequim Band. He then returned to the Monterey Area and enjoyed living in the area that he loved, near the ocean for the rest of his life.
