Barbara L. Hatfield, of Chico, CA, passed away peacefully in her home on Aug. 22, 2012, surrounded by loving family. Born on May 31, 1927 in Denver, CO to Leo and Hazel Negri. She was 85. Barbara grew up in Denver and San Francisco. After her marriage to Stanley E. Hatfield, she worked as a magazine editor in the Chicago area, then later, in the Architectural field in Danville, CA. Barbara was an avid traveler and golfer. She enjoyed fishing, sailing, water skiing and boating with her family. In her past time, she enjoyed knitting, needlepoint, was an avid reader and loved a good game of cards. In retirement, she enjoyed tap dancing and adored dancing to the Big Band sound of yesteryear with her husband, Stan. She was predeceased by her husband, Stanley E. Hatfield, and sister, Shirley Gardner. Barbara is survived by her daughter, Pamela Walters; son-in-law, Robert Walters; granddaughter, Anna Walters of Chico, CA; daughter, Deborah Dexter; son-in-law, Randall Dexter of Fort Bragg, CA; son, Kelly Hatfield of Truckee, CA; sister, Nancy Authur of Denver, CO. A Memorial with family and friends will be held at a future date.
