Stephen "Steve" Michael Adler
February 27th, 1949 - May 31st, 2017
Obituary Stephen Michael Adler was born February 27, 1949 in Denver, CO to Phyllis Felt, later to be adopted by Herbert Adler. He grew up in Denver. He attended Our Lady of Lourdes for 1st through 8th grade and attended Mullen and Lincoln High Schools in Denver. He enlisted into the United States Army in 1969 where he honorably served his country. He was sent to Vietnam in March 1970. After serving nine months in Vietnam he was injured by a claymore mine in December. His bravery and service earned him the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal with Bronze Service Star. While in the army he was a "radio man" helping his comrades stay in communication. He was honorably discharged from the US Army in January 1972. Upon returning home from Vietnam, he attended Community College of Manitou Springs in Colorado where he studied Medical Equipment Technology. He received an Associate's Degree in this field. He also received a degree in Bio-Med Engineering. Steve made his profession in television and electronic repair. Steve started Pine Ridge Electronics in Chadron, NE. He ran this business for 25 years. In 1997, Steve moved to Denver, CO where he began working at Soundtrack Ultimate Electronics and then Sony until his retirement in 2014. Steve enjoyed many outdoor activities including fishing, hunting, spending time in the mountains hiking and gold panning, golfing, and photography. He was a sports fan of several teams including the Nebraska Cornhuskers, Denver Broncos, Colorado Avalanche and the Colorado Eagles. He was always "jazzed" about spending time with his children and grandchildren. Steve passed away on May 31, 2017 at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins, CO while battling leukemia. Steve is survived by his wife, Brenda of Johnstown, CO, his children, Will and wife Michelle, granddaughter Neely of Lincoln, NE, Sara Simpson and husband Matt and 3 grandchildren Cayden, Kynlie, and Keilyn of Lincoln, NE, Josh of Sugarland, TX, Mike of Lincoln, NE, stepson James Jackson and granddaughter Kaylee, great-grandchildren Korbyn, Brecken, and Maddix of Wellington, CO, grandson Jordan of Wellington, Co, stepdaughter Jamie Conley and husband Steven, granddaughters Kaylea and Nicole all of Wellington, CO, mother Phyllis Adler of Denver, CO, sister Patty McNeil and husband Mike, nephew Ryan, niece Allie, all of Thorton, Co, brother Mark, nieces Tara and Katlin, nephew Sean all of Denver, CO, sister Pam McVay and husband Eric, niece Brittani, nephew Dean all of Arvada, CO. Steve was preceded in death by father Herb Adler, in-laws Gordon and Patricia Pinney and Geraldine and Donald Fickenscher. Celebration of Life to be held on Monday, June 5, 2017 at 10 am at the Fairgrounds Park Pavilions, 700 S. Railroad Ave, Loveland, CO 80537.
