Socorro H. Zazueta went to be with the Lord on May 28, 2011. She was born on June 6, 1927 in Meza, Arizona, in Maricopa county. Socorro retired from Armstrong Nursery in Ontario, CA and worked as a nanny for several years. Socorro was a long-time resident of Salinas. She loved to garden, crochet, sew, travel and listen to music. Most of all she loved her family gatherings, surrounded by her children, grandchildren, sisters, brothers, along with many nieces and nephews. Socorro is survived by her sons Jimmie (Linda) Zazueta of Van Nuys Joe (Victoria) Zazueta Richard Zazueta Frank Zazueta all of Salinas daughters Theresa (Jesse) Velasquez Gloria (Raul) Rede Carmen Rodriguez all of Salinas 22 grandchildren 57 great-grandchildren one great-great-grandson sisters Carmen Ortiz Ufemia (Robert) Perez Connie (Manuel) Gonzalez Hope (Julio) Anguiano Mary Herrrera Dolores (Rick) Losoya Aurora Maldonado brother Joe (Louisa) Herrera numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives She is preceded in death by both parents, Jose and Mercedes Herrera her husband, Frank Zazueta son, Johnny Zazueta grandson, George Zazueta brothers, Pete and Theodore Herrera Vistation will take place on Thursday, June 2, 2011 1-9pm with a Rosary Recital 7pm all at Healey Mortuary 405 N. Sanborn Rd. Salinas, CA 93905. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 3, 2011 1:30pm at Sacred Heart Catholic Church 22 Stone St. Salinas, CA 93901. Burial to follow at the Garden of Memories Cemetery 850 Abbott St. Salinas, CA 93901.
