Bruce Olson, age 62, passed away at home in Salinas on September 11, 2008. He was born in Fort Snelling, Minnesota in 1946. He is survived by his mother, Doris Olson, of Salinas, cousin Carol Kramer of San Jose, and his beloved dog, Lady. Bruce graduated from Salinas High School in 1964. He recently retired from civil service with the United States Air Force in Tucson, Arizona. Bruce made friends easily with everyone who knew him. He played on Hartnell’s 1967 State Championship football team. He continued playing football in Nebraska and Montana. He remained a fan of football and other sports for his entire life. Bruce was a member of Saint Ansgar’s Lutheran Church. He loved gardening and animals. His ashes will be scattered in the ocean off the Big Sur coast, where Bruce loved to visit.
