Jack was a member of Telephone Company Pioneers and Masonic Lodge #204 F & AM Jack retired from Pacific Telephone Company after 34 of dedicated service. In 1975, he along with two others, installed the very first 911 county-wide telephone system in the basement of the County Courthouse in Salinas. He served in the U.S. Army and is a veteran of WWII. He also was an avid outdoorsman. He is survived by son Lance and Tracy Osborn of Salinas sisters Lucille Hodel of Salinas Mildred Kester of Stockton Arlene Hoeneck of Redwood City grandchildren Jake Brinton and Lena Powers preceded in death by wife Dorothy Osborn sisters Marianne Rabe of Salinas,Yvonne Maxwell of Gilroy, and Carol Kenney of Oroville Thursday September 25, 2008 , 11AM at Healey Mortuary Click for Map and Directions at Garden of Memories Cemetery Click for Map and Directions

He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
