Mildred Smith
January 7th, 1923 - October 27th, 2008
Mildred D. Smith "Dena" Her life was one of mystery and mystic. She traveled across this country from Oklahoma to Kentucky, California to Idaho, taking her to Washington, where she met a love of her life, Edward Moylan, marrying him and having two daughters, Charlotte and Teresa. They lived in Elnisburg, Idaho, before moving to California. Later, after losing Ed, Dena moved to Idaho and Married a second lvoe, Carl Smith in 1978. She enjoyed their life until his passing in 1983. Dena then met her lucky third love, Ruben Cragen, sharing many years of fishing and camping, also sharing the growing of their family with him, until his passing. Her daughter, Charlotte Cabrito, awaits her in heaven, as well as Ed, Carl, and Ruben. She is survived by daughters Teresa Ritchie Mary Jo Hanson son Steven Ballard grandchildren Shawna and Adam Souza Samuel Moylan Kyle and Kara Ritchie Jackie and Jody greatgrandchildren Adam J. and Jillian Souza Madison and Ashely of Oklahoma Many thanks to the love shown to my mom by Merci and Paul of Green Pines Home and the staff at Windsor Gardens. In lieu of flowers, you may send memorials to: Madonna Manor 1335 Byron Drive Salinas, CA 93901 Memorial Services will be held at a later date.

At Healey, we treat our Salinas Valley community members like family. Our story begins after World War II when Veteran Herbert C. Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
