Peggy Rae Fagundes
February 11th, 1931 - January 1st, 2012
Peggy Rae Wilson Fagundes, 80, longtime resident of Monterey County and former resident of Hollister, passed away on January 1, 2012 in Salinas. She was born on February 11, 1931 in Ft. Riley, Kansas. Peggy graduated from San Benito High School in Hollister. She was an avid S.F. 49'er football fan and was a member of the Madonna del Sasso Catholic Parrish. Her loves in life were her church and her son and grandchildren. She is survived by her son, John Fagundes of Salinas; sisters, Patricia Birchmier of Gilroy and Colleen Thomas of San Juan Bautista; brothers, John Wilson of Ft. Worth, TX and Kenneth Wilson of Puyallup, WA; and grandchildren, Matthew, Claire and Nathaniel. She is preceded in death by parents, Leslie and Irene Wilson; and brothers, Gene and Alan Wilson. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2012 1-9pm with a Rosary at 6pm all at the Healey Mortuary 405 N. Sanborn Rd. Salinas, CA 93905. A Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, January 6, 2012 at 1pm at Madonna del Sasso Catholic Church 320 E. Laurel Dr. Salinas, CA 93906. Burial to follow services at the Garden of Memories Cemetery 850 Abbott St. Salinas, CA 93901. In Lieu of Flowers, preferred Contributions may be made in Peggy's memory to VNA/Hospice 6 Quail Run Ste. 101 Salinas, CA 93907 or the American Cancer Society 945 S. Main St. Ste. 201 Salinas, CA 93901.

He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
