Edith Mae Johnston, 75, longtime resident of Salinas, passed away on September 25, 2012 in Salinas. She was born on August 16, 1937 in Pennsacola, Florida. Edith enjoyed being a homemaker for many years. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Roger Johnston her children, Vickey Johnston Roger Johnston, Jr. Lane Alexander Chante Risley 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren also survive. A Family Celebration of her life has been held.

He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
