Robert Matlock
November 16th, 1948 - December 1st, 2012
Robert "Bobby" Clinton Matlock, 64, passed away on December 1, 2012, at Saint Vincent Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas (AR) following a lengthy illness. He was born in Salinas, CA on November 16, 1948 to the late Charles Matlock and Bonnie Sue Weekes and was a resident of Salinas for 62 years. He spent the last 2 years in the care of his sister Leisa and family in Jacksonville, AR. He was a generous and kind-hearted person. He liked to make Dart Guns and Bow & Arrows. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, and fishing. He worked as a Cement Mason and also worked for the Salinas Valley Wax Paper Company for many years. Bobby was a member of the First Baptist of Gravel Ridge Church in Jacksonville, AR. Preceded in death by his grandparents, Merle and Lucille Peugh, and his brother Michael Allen Detwiler. He leaves to cherish his loving memory his daughter, Toni Renee Matlock, of Salinas, CA: brother Paul (Linda) Detwiler, of Modesto, CA; sister Leisa (Frank) Lopez of Jacksonville, AR; and uncle James Peugh; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. He will be greatly missed. Visitation will be Thursday, December 6, 2012 1-9pm at Healey Mortuary, 405 N. Sanborn Road, Salinas, CA 93905. Graveside Services will be held on Friday, December 7, 2012 at 2:30 PM at the Garden of Memories, 850 Abbott Street, Salinas, CA 93901.

Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
