Daniel William Hahn, 59, was born in Bangor, Maine on July 24, 1960 to a career US Air Force father, Donald William, and military spouse mother, Bonnie Marie (Ryner) Hahn. Travel and moving were a large part of his developing years. As an adult he was very fond of Europe, the Hawaiian Islands and cruises. In his early twenties, Daniel was a Sutter County resident prior to moving to Sacramento, California where he spent the remainder of his days. Mr. Hahn worked at UC Davis in Davis, California for over 20 years. First hired into a temporary position there and eventually promoted to GIS Specialist for his solid background in computer science and programming. He performed mapping and building data functions, developed 3D building models and provided drafting tasks in support of Facilities Management. He planned to retire at age 60. Daniel loved animals, horses, dogs, cats and birds, being especially fond of parrots, parakeets and cockatiels. He enjoyed genealogy searches and learning about his Irish and German family roots. Mr. Hahn often posted pictures on Facebook of breads he had baked. He was an amateur musician, learning to play keyboard and guitars. Those left to mourn his passing are his mother, Bonnie (Ryner) Hahn of Henderson, Nevada, his sister, Deanna (Hahn) and her husband, James Mackensen of Yuba City, California. Nephew, Alex and his wife, April Mackensen of Charleston, West Virginia; Nieces Cassandra and Kristina Mackensen of Yuba City, California and Nicole Mackensen of Washington State. Mr. Hahn died on Friday, May 8. No services at this time.
