Wanda Morena

WANDA MAE MORENA September 11, 1931 - February 18, 2015 On February 18, 2015 our beloved mother, our treasure, went home to be with the Lord. While we rejoice in her home-going, we will miss her with all our hearts. Wanda Mae Morena was born September 11, 1931 in Springfield, Missouri. She was a loving and devoted daughter to her mother Stella Carolyn Combs and her father Loren Guy Combs. Wanda loved to bowl, play golf, play cards, and became a lover of Bingo in her later years. A closet adventurer, she lived in France from 1957 until 1965, traveling Europe. Missing her home, she returned to Chico in 1965 and lived here for her remaining years. She was a stay-at-home Mother for many years until beginning a career as a waitress working at the The Bowling Alley, McHenry's, and finally retired from Kalico Kitchen. She is survived by her brother, Carl Combs, her three children, David Loren Morena, Dennis James Morena, Debra Ann Armstrong, her 8 grandchildren, 17 great-grand-children, and many loving nieces and nephews. She forged many friendships during her lifetime and will be missed especially by Yvonne Loomis and Brigitte Boots. Words cannot express how much she will be missed, how many lives she touched and how much she was loved by so many. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at the Calvary Chapel, 1888 Springfield Drive, Chico, at 11:00 a.m. with a reception immediately following.
